Conditions for the optional foreign language preparatory class:
Students who prefer our faculty can optionally choose the English Preparatory class before they start their first year education. If they fail the Preparatory Class at the end of the academic year, they are not required to repeat this class. However, the Preparatory Class period is not included in the 4-year education period.
Conditions regarding internship, education-teaching model, industry-based teaching internship, how applied trainings are carried out and whether internships can be done outside the province where the relevant higher education institution is located::
Our faculty has switched to the 7 + 1 Education Model since the 2024-2025 academic year. With this application, our students will take theoretical and practical courses in our faculty for 7 semesters and in the last year, they will carry out Vocational Training in Business (VET) in the enterprises contracted by our faculty for 1 semester (semester). Vocational Education in Business is compulsory in our faculty. The process of Vocational Education in Business is carried out by the Vocational Education in Business Commission of the Dean’s Office of our Faculty.
Conditions regarding the clothing and equipment required by the profession:
It is compulsory to use lab coats and protective equipment (mask, gloves, visor, etc.) during the realization of practical courses and equipment such as life ring / life vest, hard hat, overalls and boots for practical courses / technical trips in the water environment (sea, lake, river).
Conditions regarding the expenses for consumables, tools and equipment to be used in course applications, exams, materials and educational expenses for education and training services:
Especially for the needs such as biological and chemical materials, protective equipment and application materials to be used in the processing of applied courses, no fee is charged from our students. However, our students are required to provide their own lab coats. No fee is charged for materials such as lecture notes, short information notes, etc. given to our students by the relevant lecturer during the processing of theoretical courses. However, materials such as books and notebooks related to the course must be provided by our students. For resources other than books, which are course materials, they can benefit from the library of our university.
The content of the program, conditions related to the campus where the faculty, college and vocational school are located:
Our faculty campus serves in two buildings, Block A and Block B, on an area of 13.748 m². There are 4 lecture halls, 1 conference hall, 4 classrooms, 10 research laboratories, 1 computer laboratory, 2 aquarium units, 1 research and application center and a mussel and oyster farming facility at sea. There is also a research vessel named Seydi Ali Reis R/V (22,5 mt), which is used in scientific studies and student applications. The sports facility with an astroturf field, volleyball court, basketball court and tennis court located in the campus of our faculty provides opportunities for our students’ sportive activities, and their food and social needs are met with the cafeteria and dining hall located in the campus.

Our faculty is an independent campus in Akliman Mevkii, approximately 4 km from the newly established campus and 11 km from the city center. The famous Hamsilos Bay, which has a unique nature, is a 15-minute walk away.

Accommodation opportunities:
In Sinop, there are dormitories belonging to the Credit and Dormitories Institution (KYK) and many private dormitories open to the service of our students. Students who do not want to stay in dormitories can also choose to live at home. It is possible to find furnished apartments for rent both in the city center and in Akliman region. In Sinop, which is also a tourism city, many buildings used as apartments in the summer can be rented by students at affordable prices during the academic year.

Transportation opportunities:
Sinop has a bus terminal and an airport for intercity transportation. Transportation within the city is done by minibuses. Transportation from the city center and Credit and Dormitories Institution (KYK) dormitories to the Faculty of Fisheries / Akliman is by minibuses.
Scholarship opportunities:
Our students can benefit from Scholarship or Tuition Loan by applying to the Credit and Dormitories Institution (KYK) after enrolling in our Faculty. Apart from these opportunities, Sinop University Foundation can also provide scholarships to our students.
Nutrition assistance and facilities:
The Department of Health, Culture and Sports of our university can provide food scholarships to our students within certain quotas.
